Analysis Highlights: Median Industry Performance Is Not a Firm’s Destiny
Recently released TechServe Interactive OPR Industry Dashboard highlights the broad continuum of IT & Engineering Staffing Performance.
Alexandria, VA — The newly released TechServe Alliance Interactive OPR Industry Dashboard reveals that revenue at the median IT & engineering staffing firm declined 1.5% in 2025, with the middle 50% of firms ranging from an 8.8% decline to 8.8% growth. Built on aggregated benchmarking data from the industry’s only annual benchmarking analysis focused exclusively on the IT & engineering staffing and solutions industry, the interactive Power BI dashboard lets firms explore the full continuum of industry performance including financial, sales & recruiting metrics and compensation, strategic priorities and multi-year trends. The new business intelligence tool also allows users to filter the data based on company size, percentage of VMS business, profitability, and region/location.

Profitability across the industry remained under pressure in 2025 with the median firm posting operating profit of only 3.4% with the 25th percentile barely profitable at 0.4% whereas the 75th percentile generated 6.7% in operating profit. “The ultimate goal of the Dashboard and the soon to be released individual Company Scorecards is to empower leaders to model the best practices of top industry performers.”
