Marketing Roundtable: Doing More With Less in an AI-Driven Market

Three abstract figures sit at a round table with a laptop, embodying the spirit of a Marketing Roundtable. Above them, a central AI icon and network nodes symbolize collaboration in an AI-Driven Market. The text reads, Doing More With Less in an AI-Driven Market.

Marketing Roundtable: Doing More With Less in an AI-Driven Market

Marketing teams are being asked to generate more demand, support sales, adopt AI, produce content, manage multiple channels—and prove the impact of it all, often with limited resources.

In TechServe’s latest Marketing Roundtable, participants shared what’s working as they navigate those competing demands. One message came through clearly: success isn’t necessarily about doing more. It’s about focusing on the right things and executing them consistently.

AI Is Becoming a Marketing Force Multiplier

Teams are finding practical ways to use AI to increase capacity, from helping sales create presentations and social content to turning internal subject-matter expertise into polished marketing materials.

But participants cautioned against removing people from the process. Human review remains important for accuracy, brand voice, and quality. The most effective approach appears to be AI plus human expertise—not AI replacing it.

Narrower Campaigns Are Driving Better Engagement

Rather than promoting multiple services at once, participants reported stronger results from campaigns centered on one specific customer problem or audience

The formula: identify a meaningful pain point, create something useful around it, and reinforce that message across email, LinkedIn, paid media, webinars, PR, and sales outreach.

That consistency matters. In a longer B2B buying cycle, prospects may encounter a company many times before they are ready to engage.

Sales and Marketing Need to Build the Message Together

Regular communication between sales and marketing helps both teams stay closer to what customers are actually experiencing.

One strategy gaining traction is having sales contribute the raw insights for content, then using marketing and AI to shape those ideas into finished materials. This reduces the burden on marketing while making the content more authentic and relevant.

The group also emphasized a problem-first rather than product-first approach: start conversations around what the customer is trying to solve rather than what the company wants to sell.

Marketing ROI Requires a Broader View

With buyers engaging across email, social media, search, events, content, and other channels, the last click rarely tells the full story.

Participants discussed looking beyond direct conversions to understand marketing influence across the entire buyer journey. Some channels may generate leads, while others build credibility, awareness, or engagement that contributes to a future opportunity.

The Bigger Opportunity: Original Expertise

As AI makes generic content easier to produce, proprietary research, original insights, and genuine subject-matter expertise become more valuable differentiators.

For marketing teams heading into 2027, the takeaway is simple: focus on fewer priorities, build around real customer problems, use AI to extend—not replace—human expertise, and consistently amplify the insights only your organization can provide.
