Department of Labor Announces New Independent Contractor Rulemaking & Listening Sessions

The Department of Labor (DOL) announced through its Blog that the agency will hold stakeholder listening sessions in advance of new rulemaking on independent contractor status. DOL will hear from employers on June 24, 2022 from 2:30 p.m.-to 4:30 p.m. EDT. TechServe Alliance members can register to participate on the DOL website.

Employer Forum: June 24, 2022, from 2:30 – 4:30 pm ET – RSVP HERE

DOL intends to incorporate stakeholder concerns in the proposed rule, which will be published in the Federal Register followed by a period for public comment. TechServe has been engaged in independent contractor rulemaking, which has been going on for several years and will again submit comments.
